I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea. I know that lane splitting is legal, as long as the rider is acting responsibly and doing so in a safe mannor. I'm simply pissed that this bastard just kept on going. It was clear that he was at fault, and he bailed like a *****.
This was the first time I've ever been hit by a lane spiltter and I'm not going to put up with someone making a get away. After speaking with the CHP, I have a new understanding of the laws around lane splitting and I have equiped myselft with new knowledge a tools for any future incidents like this. I still leave plenty of room for lane splitters, like I aways have, but once one hits me, then the game is over. I'm not going to be ingnorant and assume the rider is going to stop. I'll have the bikes info and description before he's even 10 feet away, and that's all the CHP needs. Unless he/she does stop and take responsibility then everything is all good.
