Feeler: Stillen Cat-Back Exhaust

It seems as if I finally made my decision. Well almost.

My 3 top choices are HKS, FI, and Stillen.

Choosing an exhaust is so hard! But if I get a decent deal over at Stillen day, then why not take advantage of it?

I completely love the sound. The only problem is, I have not heard it in person.

It seems as if, in every meet I attend, everyone either has HKS, FI, or stock.

Is there anyone around the L.A area, San Fernando Valley, that owns a Stillen Cat-Back?

I'd love to hear it in person, or atleast get better, more in-depth feedback.

HKS sounds very very good, but not something I wanna hear every single day.

This video sold me on the Stillen :

If you were near Temecula, you could hear mine. But then I also have Kinetix high flow cats, Topspeed headers and a Kinetix plenum. So the sound from my G is a little different. I've had the Stillen for 3 years now and haven't had any issue, still love it.

Later,

Ray

Yeah too far

I plan on getting some Fast Intentions HFC after. Probably make it just a little louder.

Fast Intentions! Tony from FI has swapped out so many Stillen systems with his own he's probably lost count. Cant go wrong with FI as their products are made with great care and quality and they have some of the best, if not the best, customer service you can ask for!

You would do well representing them as a spokesperson

I already know Fast Intentions is great quality.

It just doesnt appeal to me visually.

If I can get a good deal with Stillen over at Stillen day, with free or cheap installation at the spot, then I will most likely take one.

PS. Wally, have you heard Stillen in person?

i started w/ the intake and exhaust. and a plenum spacer. it sounded really good..
very very quiet.. until u get on it..
just as some others described it, as slightly louder than stock.. but similar sound.. id imagine the other exhausts just sound different altogether.
however.. now that i have headers and Highflow cats.. the car just sounds loud altogether.. no matter what rev range..
so in my opinion, it really wont matter, since ur already going to get high flow cats.. its going to be loud and mean as a mother ******.. as for looks..
the hks looks really good, stillen looks kinda akward on the car,.. its better on the 350z, which was the car it was probably originally designed for.
i like the stillen for the initial gain.. which was nice..
thats my 2 cents

Startbutton,

Thanks for your input.

I appreciate it.

In your mind, is the exhaust itself worth it(gains, sound, "looks") ???

Man, I really need to hear this in person. It would make my decision much clearer

gain and sounds.. good..
looks..
i think its one of the ugliest.. only pro about it is its shiny..
sad to say.. to my own exhaust, but thats just my opinion..
functionality wise tho, its perfect, and im the type that doesnt change wats not broken.. it goes well w/ my air set up at the moment.. and doesnt constrict air, so im happy. i had a good deal on it used.. like 7 or 8 hundred.. so i REALLY cant complain.. it came looking brand new..
now its a lil dusty, just needs a little polishing...
im in cerritos, if ur in the area, or come to a meet down here, u can hear mine.
and of course all the competition..
wally has a the hks one i believe.. sounds mean as hell too..
as for me, i can only give u the sound of a HFC and header included w/ the exhaust.. which im very satisfied w/ ..

good luck

There's bound to be a coupe with Stillen exhaust at Stillen day... hopefully you can hear before you buy there... I have gen1 Stillen but it's a sedan so not really worth it for you to compare... It does sound different than coupe. Maybe the CA Speedway GTG will have a coupe with Stillen - you going to that right?...

the question is...

do you offer the g35 extension pipe? in addition, can you add an extra two inches on to that? b/c even with the extension pipe, the 350z nismo exhaust will fall short a couple inches.
