Hey guys, anyone know of a place in the SD area that can install 3.9 gears? I spoke to VRT and they want $800 so that isn't gonna happen. I'd appreciate any info/experiences you've had.

You can try Group5/AEBS , but I don't think they'd be any cheaper.

It may be worth while to go to StreetImage, they are upnorth in LA surrounding area.

I'd deffinitely call Group5 if your looking in SD. I've had them do work on my New Beetle when I had that and they always did a great job. You could also check with PannAuto. I've only bought small products from them before, but they seemed to have a pretty decent shop.

Later,

Ray

I dislike PannAuto. I would buy parts, their prices are competitive, but to do an install. Forget it. Unless you are close friends with the people there, it seems like the workmanship is terrible. I've seen turbo kits that they've installed self-distruct within a week. Attention to detail is what they lack, it seems.

Not a bad quote, I could have just barely beaten it ($550)
Tim at SF will get it done for you just fine though.

Pann Auto has always been shady for years...I wouldn't let them install a air freshener.
