how or where to remove stripped lugnut?
somehow i overtightened a lugnut and i stripped it trying to take it off. i tried the hammer a smaller socket on to it method but it just keeps stripping.
ive always somehow been able to find a socket to take off locks with missing keys but these lugs keep stripping. btw, they are lugs i got from tirerack.
this sux! i need to change my rear pads but this lug nut is owning me
any suggestions?

Take it to any good tire shop or dealer and they can take care of it for you. Just make sure they are really good, they may scratch your rims
You may need to buy a new stud and nut pick them up form the dealer before you go just in case.

i dont mind buying new stud, and lugnut or even if they scratch my wheel, im paranoid driving around knowing a lugnut is stuck. luckily its not my only car.

Bringing this up from the dead. I went to remove my rear wheels yesterday, and one of the nuts just spins! WTF…..I had my brakes changed a while back, and tires rotated. I also noticed one of the nuts is different that the rest. Freaking morans at the shops! Anyways, with the tire ON, and the nut just spinning, will a tire shop be able to remove it?
