Visiting LA, want to rent a car

Hi all,

I will be visiting LA (from NY) in mid-November for a 5 day trip and would like to rent a nice car while I am out there. It will be nice to drive something other than the G (maybe a BMW, Lexus, Audi, etc.).

I want to know if anyone had any recommendations on what I can rent where or if anyone had any discount/promotional codes for car rentals they may not need.

Thanks!

the only discount I get when renting a car is the AAA membership, forget what the percentage rate is but hope you have that.

Budget.com has a "nicer" line called "Driver's Choice"

They have cars like Eclipse Spyder, Mustang convertibles, Chrysler 300M and Crossfire, Cadillac CTS and STS, Pontiac Solstice, H3, Infiniti FX35 , and some others like hybrids.

Edit: or you can be a baller and go here: http://www.bhrentacar.com/luxury-car-rental.php

Hertz has the "fun collection" and "prestige collection" and you can rent a corvette if you want. LOL I rented an Audi A4 2.0T for my honeymoon in Colorado from Hertz. Was a pretty nice ride. I would say to just go to the big companies websites (hertz.com or budgetrentacar.com) and browse around.

Good luck!

Okay I am torn between an Escalade, a Corvette convertible, A4 convertible, Shelby GTH, 350Z convertible, FX35, M35, Hummer H2 or H3, or Hyndai Accent.

Any opinions from anyone experienced as to which is the funnest car to drive?

I knew it was too tempting not to say that which is why I included the Accent in the list.

that all depends on what you'll be doing out here..

if you'll be going places with just you and the GF/wife get the Corvette. But if you plan on going out with family, stick with the Escalade or the H2.

The enterprise rent a car on fair oaks in pasadena has a few lotus's. That might be fun, if you don't need any space.
