im not surprised, I have personally seen a 335 run 12.7 @ 112mph. So it was just matter of time.

Dont mean to jak the thread but.......Seems as if i might be taking my deposit back for the new M3 since I am looking at sometime next year (2009) to receive it. I was one of those that put a late deposit and just prayed, lol. If this is the case, will probably know next week, I will get a 335i instead and do the stage 3 vishnu on it right after I brake it in. 400hp sounds really good.

Quote: lol I would also tell you if you're planning on racing the 335 anytime soon, you might want to spend the money on going FI, or else there's no chance. sucks but it's the truth.
think of it this way...the 335 is using forced inducting...why shouldn't you...? hahaha

besides, you'll be the last one laughing when the bmw is starting to fall apart and your car is still running like a champ.

It'll be hard to beat one with a NA G35, unless it's a manual with a sh1tty driver, then it's possible. But why do people think 335 is so damn fast, isn't an Evo IX faster than a 335i? (at least according to Motor Trend)

take an auto G35 and race an auto 335 and see what happens.

Now take a manual G35 and race an auto 335 and see what happens.

The results speak for themselves.

Keep in mind, that I own a g35, and more importantly, I SELL them.

AFAIK, the EVO is only faster than the 335 at low speeds because of better launching capability and (far) more agressive gearing. As you get faster and faster, the 335 becomes faster. If you go from a roll, the 335 will crawl or walk away, depending on the speed.

Now if you run across a heat soaked 335.....

Yeah... but Evo is 20k less than a 335, why is the Evo beating such a "great car" when it's 20k less? I don't hear people raving about the Evo, do you understand what I am saying here?

And as far as your comparison with the G35 and 335.. Are you implying a manual G35 will beat an auto 335? Lol cause if that's what you're implying that is SO off. First of all, you selling G35's is no different from me owning one when in comes to knowing a car's speed, because I drive my G everyday, so I know how fast it is just as much as you do. Second, and people may disagree with this, but from my experience, if there are two exact same cars but one is manual and one is auto on the street, I would bet on the auto any day. From my experience, a car's computer can shift better than the average driver(average, NOT all). I say this because I've raced 3 manual Z's so far, and I RAPED them(like 2 car lengths by 60). But even if the manual G had a decent driver, stock for stock I'm very sure it would lose to an auto 335. Manual G35 is ABOUT 0.7/0.8 sec slower on the 1/4mile than a manual 335, so unless you're implying the auto 335 is 0.8/0.9 slower than the manual version, I don't see how a manual G35 will beat an auto 335i... And that's considering the G35 has a good/decent driver.
