Theres really not that many good thing about washing you car at a car wash. If you go to the one's with the rotating brush, it's going to scratch and give your car swirls. If you go to the a touch-less free one, The strong soap solution is going to eat away you wax. So your car won't be protect anymore.

you mean, those place that looks like carports where you put in money and they let you have 5 mins of water?
i've never seen that in the communistic state of irvine, everything i've seen here is drive thru or hand wash... i'm trying to think of the older parts of irvine, but nothing comes to mind...

ok thx guys, but i think i found an alternative, the main reason i asked is cuz i don't have a hose here since i live in an apartment, but i found this product called optimum no rinse and supposedly you just mix it with water and wipe away without scratching the paint. there's also a demo of this product being used on a ferrari, so my mind is at ease

there is also another water-free wash called smartOne made by smart wax. its suppose to be environmental friendly. just have to shake the bottle well, use the pump and spray and wipe off. its pretty easy to use. http://www.smartwax-usa.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=29

YES! that's exactly what i got and i also bought a garden spray kinda thing to kinda pre-rinse the car cuz they said if the car is "really dirty" then i would need to rinse, which is kinda ambiguous, so just to be safe, i'll be doing the same thing as you. NICE product, i never thought they had something like this, gonna try it out once it arrives
