Yet another Cali crackdown...
Respect?
Just lost some more respect for the police. What was the cost of all the crime they could have prevented? IMO all they care about is writing tickets. I was a hit and run victim on the freeway, reported it to the Highway Patrol, filled out a report. I called back, and they couldn't even find the report. Thanks for DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Locally I was a victim of identity theft (cc account) I worked with a local business man and handed them a bunch of information/leads, What was done when I handed them the this information? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I called back and asked what was done, and they could not give me any answer. Why is it they have time to write tickets, but dont have any time to investigate these crimes? Protect and serve? Bull F*cking ****!! IMO it is because there is no money in it. I think what any reasonable person would want is to be treated fairly. The other examples of Harleys, domestic vehicles and high end vehicles not being treated this way seem true. Why is this? Stereotyping? Racism? I think so. What would be another logical reason? Show me one newpaper article showing a crackdown on modded motorcycles. I hate seeing cops ranting around town all day, not stopping at lights, not signaling, I was even in Glendale and saw a squad car barely wait until an old lady moved out of the way, then ran a red light, while the lady was 10 feet away in the crosswalk. No code 3, no lights, just the brash attidute 'we're cops, WTF are you going to do about it' Police should be a good example of what TO do, all too often they are not. For these reasons I have lost most of my respect for many of them... Sorry for the off topic ranting...

Preventive policing would be to get off your lazy a$$'s and focus your energy on murders, rapes, drugs, burglary etc... You in law enforcement know the direct correlation between engine mods, its tickets, quotas, money, power trips etc... Huge drug raids could have been done with the man power that it took to bust people sitting in a parking lot that can afford rides that you as a person in law enforement could never afford. If you got into law enforement to make the world a safer place to live in then worry about the things that are killing people in record numbers.

You can join the adult table when you've done some growing up ok?

Mods please close this thread. Thank you.

IMO, if they wanted to really curb street racing, do what racelegal was trying to do, give people a venue to race their cars safely. Probablem is if you are in SD, racelegal is it, and its crap. its only an 1/8 mile, and there is no track prep, it cost way too much to do less.

Don't assume that just because I decided to help the community, which I really am doing because I'm a Reserve Peace Officer that doesn't get paid jack squat, means that I'm biased. I'm 27 yrs old and has been an average citizen longer than an officer (2 yrs). Being a peace officer means I have to think as a citizen and as the laws that apply. You have officers out there that have done it since the age of 21 and law enforcement is all they know how to be. I will give you my honest opinion before rendering my verdict.
Why should they close the thread? Because we're all civilized people that shouldn't stoop down to bashing and posting crap like "Peace B1tch!", especially when mods/admin have clearly expressed it.
Lets stop the flaming guys, before someone decides to get the ban stick out.
My personal view on street racing: If nobody else's life is being endangered, and no property is being endangered, then it's your loss if you crash and die.
Endanger someone else, and now I have an issue with it.
Go find a rich guy with a lot of property and have fun on it.

LjN - thanks for your input from the other side. But since you aren't up top calling the shots, your views and theirs still might be different.
I made this thread as a heads up to other car enthusiasts in that area. A discussion between adults is always good to have and informative for everyone willing to listen to what others have to say, but the flaming is not needed or wanted at all.
Natural selection is never a bad thing... until it involves others.

Just out of curiousity, lets say you did Die for your country...What would it accomplish? what exactly are you defending?
What exactly are you putting your life at risk protecting as a peace officer?
I ask this question to anyone who blindly joins the military or police force.

I'm defending the United States Constitution as I was sworn to uphold. Yes it's been said and done by many but reciting the peace officer oath makes you realize "Whoa, it's more than just a 9-5 job."
There are endless amount of risks as a peace officer from the moment you put on the uniform to the time you pull into your driveway at home. Drug dealers willing to kill you so they won't get caught. Domestic violence calls where the husband is so enraged that his actions are taken out on you. Third strikers who vowed never to go back to prison. Responding to a armed robbery in progress or even a residential burglary where the suspect is hiding in the closet. You'll even have the occasional "thug" who will intentionally kill an officer just to be praised in prison.
I didn't blindly join the police force. I was a Boy Scout from ages 14-18, wanted to join the Marines but realized a college education was a priority, interest in law enforcement at age 22 but didn't have enough money to put myself through the academy, and at 25, hired by an agency who offered to sponsor me in the academy.
g30wh4t...The fact that you take the time out of your life to comment about something I wrote is priceless. Thanks!

My reason for joining isn't as much about protecting freedom and dieing for my country. If that happens the so be it. I wouldn't feel like a made a bad decision.
We do a lot of good things for the community. The military is big on volunteer service. Cleaning up the streets, helping those who can't help themselves, food shelters, etc.
We stop drug ships from getting into the country, obviously they still get here somehow
), but right now, they endanger more lives than just those who use them. So, that method of entry/transport needs to stop. This helps to make a better country for our kids. They are the only ones that matter to me. A lot of Grown-ups really aren't worth protecting. We keep the crazy **** out of our country by "needlessly" going to their countries and we fight there. Yes, we may loose a lot of lives this way, but we also protect other lives while doing it. Notice we haven't had any suicide bombers in our country since we went over there. I don't fully agree with going over there, but I do see some positives coming out of it. (although we are wasting way too much money on it and are slowly killing our nations wealth
)Honestly to me it is just a job. Many positives and negatives come with any Job. The biggest negative with my job is death, but I understand that. The people working in the towers didn't think that death was a possibility with their jobs. Those were the real needless deaths. That is the main reason why we fight. So, normal civilians don't die needlessly.
If you want to talk with me more about this, you know how to find me
