$150 Parking ticket!!

I just received a parking ticket in the mail saying that I had a loading zone violation on 3/12/08 in City of LA. But I never received a ticket on my car so I didn't even know about it, and now it's overdue and the penalty due is $150. wtf.. i've never gotten ripped off this much for a parking ticket

is there anyway to get out of the penalty? or get out of the whole ticket as a whole (i.e. prove that I was at school and not at the location of the ticket)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

And I'm here all pissed off at my $36 meter ticket in Pasadena on Saturday night that says it was a "Silver G35". Maybe being debadged made them think it was a G35, but silver? lol. Go fight it and good luck!

Does that still work if he missed his court date because he didn't know about it?

maybe the judge was cool, last time I went, cuz he pretty much lowered majority of the people's tickets, even the ones that were overdue.

It's a parking ticket not a moving violation guys. How is he going to see a judge??

He just has to call the number on the notice and tell them the situation. He might have to go in person though.

just be glad it wasn't a speeding ticket. I caught one this past weekend and can only wait for the excitement of paying close to $400 for the citation.

Be honest, did you really park in the loading zone?

^haha you sound like the cop that pulled me over one time: "honestly.. how fast were you going?".. but obviously i never admitted to speeding

anyways I really cannot remember where I parked on a tuesday two month ago.. i have parked at loading zones before, but a $150 parking ticket is pretty ridiculous
