hey folks, i'm gonna make a trip to LA in a week. are the cops really **** about white side markers? i have PIAA bulbs in in clears and wondering if i should put the amber bulbs in that they came with . . . i also have 35% tint all around and without a front license plate. i dont get tickted for that stuff here in the bay. should i expect a ticket when i roll in your guys' neck of the woods?

ummmmmmmmmm... they ARE VERY **** about things like that, but i dont think they know that stock is amber, since its only a parking light/ side marker...
they really only care about blinker lights, and other funky colors like red in the front and blue and green and stuff, but if you have these colors on your G, you deserve to get pulled over!!!

i wouldnt really worry, but keep them in the car just in case you do get pulled over and change the bulbs infront of the cop. also, if you do get pulled over, tell him youre from out of town, he might let you off the hook!

o, for the front license plate, he will surely pull you over for that, if he's a d!ck (but i wouldnt go drilling holes in my bumper)... 35% tint is nothing to worry about!

Dude I live in Los Angeles. In fact I live in Santa Monica which might have the most **** cops in the whole world. I've actually been arrested for curfew 2 times. I have yet to have a problem with my clear corners. In fact it might be better to have them because if the cop is nice and your speeding, then he might just write you up for them instead of speeding, even though they aren't illegal at all. I dunno. All in all, dude don't worry, but if you wanna switch it back, it only takes like a minute total.

About the tint and no front license plate....ummm.....I believe that level of tint is legal in California, but the no front license plate....they might nail you on that one.

Ok first off there are a lot of different police agencies here and each one is different.

If you are talking about City of Los Angeles...that is where I live and it is a big area including West LA, Downtown, San Pedro, Valley, Hollywood, etc.

While I seem to be getting a LOT of dirty looks from cops lately, my car matches yours(clear corners, dark tint, but I do have front license plate) and I have not been stopped yet in my car(21,000+miles).

Other areas of LA might not be so kind and I have also heard that the meter maids down here will ticket for no front license plate if you are parked.

 

If anybody i have had my share with the cops.

If you dont drive like an idiot they wont do anything. Excpet the CHP will pull u over for not having a front plate.

so do these things
1. PUT YOUR FRONT PLATE ON.
2. The weather in LA is perfect so roll with the windows down.
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE TINT ON THE FRONT DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER WINDOWS.
3. DONT drive like an idiot obey all rules.


And to get on the fact of the most **** cops. The winner goes to Beverly Hills. They once pulled me over for stopping 2 seconds instead of 3 seconds at a stop sign.

Ditto on the front license plate- I got pulled over for not doing anything else but that in West LA. The cop was an ***, so I filed a complaint on the LAPD Internal affairs web page. He made a racist comment...

Also, ditto on the windows. It is illegal in CA, but I only have heard of people getting pulled over when something else is wrong, like speeding.

yea man tell me about it. I fought the ticket and thank god i won. The judge was like cmon now 2 outta 3 and your pulled him over. The cop showed to and gave his part of the story, but i still won.

Thank god for that.

Put the front plate on, especially if you will be close to downtown.

No tint is legal on the front driver/passenger so best of luck to you - and they will pull you over just for that, I know from experience.

Clear corners have never caused me any problems.
