I think the added fees vary by County. Here in San Luis Obispo it's 176.00 for a cell phone ticket. They made many statements over our local news when the law went into effect, it was a base 20.00 fine, then had added court fees up to 176.00. I haven't received one, I have the hands free in my G, plus I HATE cell phone talkers right along with the damn women putting on make up and driving.

It doesn't seem like they enforce the law much around here, you can see 6-8 people driving downtown on the phone on a daily basis. I saw one at an intersection pass a SLO City police without even a second look. It seems to be college girls or the contractors in their work trucks.

i am not paying the $181 and going to traffic school for this ticket. If they raise my insurance rates I'm just gonna roll up in a ball and cry in the corner of my room.
