looks like you can fight this in court, still doesn't mean its legal, if anything get hks to cover the ticket, but good to carry that disclaimer around and show it if you get stopped again, G/L

did they put a "referee, no officer sign off" sticker on the back? If yes then just go to the referee with the hks. It should pass the sound db test no problem if you are running stock cats and headers.

hks isnt going to pay for no ticket LOL. If anything you can use that information and get the ticket dismissed, but even then I doubt it. Let us know what happens.

bikes and cars have different reasons based on dB Rating.

I got cited for my hks last year and it passed smog and dB rating at the referee. It should be okay, just show up for court, they'll ask what happened, show papers, then pay $10 and you're golden.

Exhaust sound and the law....?

It's way worse than stupid when all the Harley pilots in my neighborhood run around without mufflers and of course when they're warming up they need to play with the throttle for 10 minutes. We add an aftermarket exhaust that's slightly louder than OEM and we get cited....it's just wrong!

LOL. I got pulled over the same day I went from HKS back to OEM! Cop said my car was too loud and there was no way I was stock...until I crawled under the car to show him the Nissan stamp on the OEM muffler.

Cops don't need a sound meter to measure how loud your car is. They can give any car a fix it ticket with that based on their own judgement.

How is a cop suppose to tell the difference between 92db and 95db? Go get it OK'd and you'll be on your way.................no big deal.

Seriously, those Harley's are 10x louder than any of our aftermarket exhausts, so loud that I have to cover my ears!
