Little Tokyo & Chinatown in LA

I'm planning to spend a day or so in LA this weekend and was wondering what would be some cool stuff to do in the area? i've always been to Chinatown in LA but I want to switch it up a bit and check out little Tokyo this time, what do you guys think about that place? I've also visited "Thai-town" but that was straight up weak.

Little Tokyo in LA is very quiet, nothing there but restaurants.

There's nothing much out there but bums and hookers in every corner. It's not pretty... I rather spend my day @ a beach lol. Although If you like asian food there's places to go like in little tokyo. (spicy ramen place can't remember the name).

Go to Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, City Walk out by Universal Studios, or Old Town Pasadena. If you do decide to visit J-Town, go early so you can visit the Japanese-American Museum.

hm, I'm trying to find some Asian places to check out that have a lot of places to shop around and I'll be bringing my little sister so she definitely gonna to get things from anime/hello kitty stuff and i'm also looking to buy two pairs of the stone chinese foo dogs things so that's my main goal for chinatown

I might be going to San Diego after I get exhaust shopping and wandering around in LA and go relax on the beach for a day as well

There are anime shops in little tokyo and some in chinatown that are hidden... Hope you find them because it's pretty hard to explain where.
