I think mine is around $186 too + a $45 special plate fee. I don't know why, maybe its based on where the car is registered?

Anyway, I just paid off my car, and Chase is sending me my title, so what do I do after that, do I register it again without a lien holder this time? Also I am moving to another address, should I get both taken care of at the same time?

depends on the year of your vehicle ('03s are up this year). your renewal paperwork should tell you whether you need to get inspected as part of your renewal.

i believe some 03's were up last year, some up this year.

Anyone already paid off their car? What do you do when the bank sends you the new title?
