Hey guys,

Bruce just reminded me on the other thread that we could do a dromo1 event during one of the meets. I feel like we should have a huge meet again cause we haven't really seen a huge group gather. There is plenty of parking at dromo1 and i know there are some resturants near by. Anyone up for this?? Only draw back is that its 25 bucks each race but i can tell you from that past that its worth it...ANYONE?

The Arrive & Drive races

Races are split into heats (approximately 18-22 laps), starting with qualifying, then THE RACE,
with up to nine drivers racing together, so you can expect to experience the intensity of serious racing. The karts are maintained equally, allowing the driver with most ability to win. Each driver receives a printout of their racing statistics.

Whether you are friends or foes, relatives or co-workers, Dromo 1 allows you to go head to head in a fun and competitive environment. With up to nine drivers competing in each race, find out who has what it takes to finish at the front of the pack. Who can take the checkered flag? Who can set the fastest lap? There's only one way to find out. Be sure to reserve your positions on the starting grid today. HERE

No training or previous experience is necessary. The only requirement for drivers is a minimum height of 5 ft. (60"). All racers will need to sign a liability release form; an accompanying parent or legal guardian will need to sign for those under 18 years of age.

Upon signing into a race, D1 provides a thorough briefing session, use of a racing suit, full-face helmet with headsock, neck brace and gloves. All racers are required to wear closed-toe shoes;
no tank tops.

I want to go, but I don't know my schedule in advance yet. Also.... do you HAVE TO weat the head sock & racing suit? Sounds hot and silly for go-kart. Even track days don't demand racing suits. I don't suppose I can bring my own helmet?

Hey Ed: It's $25 per race... and you put the cost at $25, so are we planning just one run? Will it be an all G35driver race, or will it be mixed with civilians? How many people do we need to take over the course for a run?

Lastly, I know there has been talk about speedzone in Industry, they have the carts, dragsters, minigolf, arcade and a full bar.

There is plenty of parking there, it's just that nobody likes parking 50yds from the door on the west side of the lot. Plus, they have that closed area inside the area on that same side. I can take a drive down there today if we like. I think there is a contact name on one of the threads around here (as a substitute for the chino gtg I think?? - I'm still catching up on posts)

it's always a good time for Dromo1...

speedzone....well....these two are similar venues yet they are completely different....bring your kids and families to speedzone. they have many different things to do and yes, Ted, a full bar.

Dromo1 is where more hardcore race fanatics go. you put on a full firesuit, a helmet and it's a full on race. not some solo runs. and please don't even compare Dromo1 to the slick tracks or the turbo tracks at the Speedzone. they're just not the same....
