So Cal Dyno Day

Anybody interested in a dyno day at Church Automotive Torrance/Wilmington area) or Strictly Dyno (SFV)?

Most of you already know Church Automotive will typically do groups of 10+ at $50 for 3 pulls with A/F measurements. They have a very accurate/repeatable Dynapac dyno.

I don't know the details on Strictly Dyno but its an option I could check out.

Strictly dyno may have closed. Nuttyprof and I tried to contact them last time with no success. What did you think of powertrain dynamics?

I'll definitely meet up with you guys if it's done at Church, but at this point I prob won't dyno, because I haven't done anything different on the engine since last time. Maybe if I can get my exhaust work done within the next month.

The only thing I've changed is to swap out the stock 18s for 350z track rims, but that won't show any gains on the dynopack.

Tony I can try to set-up a dyno day here in San Diego at the dyno shop here in santee if you like. The website is www.dynoshop.com they have 2 or 3 different types of dynos. Let me know I think they want a $150 deposit to reserve the day I think if 5 or more cars show you get your deposit back. If you decide to call them ask for Derek i think he's the manager. Let me know what you want to do. Derek

Powertrain Dynamics.

Although the last dyno day was a great success, i wasn't too happy with how the day ended. He was just bangin out the runs real quick. In the beginning he was very happy but towards the end he became a little cranky. Even said to our faces that it wouldn't be worth it for him to do anymore runs.

Let's do Church's. Dynapack will give us better number to compare to each other. (vs Dynojet where wheel slippage could lead to bad runs) And since people have all different wheels (sizes and weight) we'll have more consistency to compare numbers.

Of course, for those that actually want to see what they put down to the wheels, this may not be ideal. But for me, i wanna find out how much i measure up to other people with similar, more or less mods.

My vote goes for Church's.

FYI ... Church's recently relocated to a newer, larger facility that is not too far from the previous location. Shawn has also took delivery of a 2nd set of Dynapack with a third unit coming soon. So, he'll be able to dyno 3 cars at once! ... 4WD ppl can play too!

Dsskyline and Tinman,
Thanks for the leads! Church Automotive is a long drive South for me too but I know I'm the one who lives way out in B.F.E. so I just gotta do it. Comming from the OC area wouldn't be so bad but Irvine and SD are just too much of a drive. I take drives like that when I go on vacation.

...I gotta admit I like Church Auto. Shawn is real sharp and doesn't need any coaching on how to do a dyno.

I almost laugh when I think of all the other shops with witless goobers running a dyno. LOL Remember Squinks from WOT?

Rashman,
Have you been to Strictly Dyno before? How is their facility?

how about the R&D dyno in Gardena?

my maxima buddies usually go there to dyno when we get 10+ people together...$40 for 2 pulls....it's an in-ground dyno jet, not a dyno-pack, so you run with your wheels on the car...
