This is a brand new compression rod bushing for the G35 sedan ordered from Beshoff Infiniti. (It may fit the couple as well but please check the part number first) I originally ordered a pair but later found out that one of my compression rods needed replacing due to a bad ball joint, so I have no need for the other compression rod bushing.

How did you know the ball joint was bad? I would bought both if you had two.

 

There was a loud clunking noise when going over bumps. After further inspection a local repair shop showed me the ball joint stud was not moving in the steering knuckle when you applied force to the wheel but you could see the ball move side to side in the socket of the compression rod. After I removed it I verified their finding of lateral play in the ball joint socket. I have a new compression rod on that side now and everything is all quiet now
