just installed my bar today. everything went smoothly, the bar went in with a little bit of force (was actually expecting more, but it needed a little force nevertheless) I originally had the bar mounted in the middle of the brackets. the bar had cleared the stock engine covers and air filters with no problem. I then decided to see if there were enough hood clearance, knowing that our cars didn't leave a lot of space for errors. i put some baking soda on the bar and closed the hood. unfortunately when i opened it back up, there was baking soda on the middle portion of the fire blanket.... now i start to get worried, there were not signs of bulging on the hood, so to be on the safe side i decided to lower the bar all the way to the bottom to see if it will clear the hood, long story short i couldn't get it where it wouldn't touch the hood.
now my question is, is this ok? the hood is not deformed and the fire blanket does allow for a little bit of compression.
ps. yes everything is bolted down tight

So I paid for mine on Tues and it came today. I'm 100% happy with it!

richie was nice enough to drop it off local yesterday..thanks man...
so i installed tonight... went pretty smooth except for one bolt which i hope i didn't mess up... the bar bent into place rather easily when i forced it in... i hope the aluminum is strong enough to offer proper rigidity... because if lateral deflection overpowers the aluminum bar, it might bend ..
the bar at the lowest point touches and depresses the hood lining in my car... i don't even have a spacer
