True Dual Exhaust is on!!! With Video!
So i went into a muffler shop and was going to have my two resonators replaced with some round magnaflows. The exhaust guy looked at it, and was like ya know? This Y-pipe is going to restrict you more than i feel these two resonators are. Sooooo, he went ahead and cut out the Y-pipe, and made me a custom H pipe for a true dual exhaust setup. I'll get some pics up as soon as the car cools down cause i just went for some runs haha. The sound, is sweet. Its perfectly controlled. Not too loud, but louder than when i just had the rear mufflers replaced. But the best thing, the car pulls sooo much harder now. Its a night and day difference. I'm willing to bet i gained at least 2 mph on the top end and at least a 1/10th. WOT from 45 literally lifts the front end of the car and throws you back. Same thing from 70. WOT from a dead stop is smooth at first, but once it gets past 5k rpms the car pulls much harder and once it shifts into 2nd it feels like the tires want to break loose.

Looks good man... wondering how much louder it is though (everyone has their own opinion on what is loud).
I love the ideas, just want to retain that LUXURY sound when your just driving day-to-day but wouldn't mind a growl when I'm flipping through the paddles. Thanks for the post!

Well i have a video that i took right after i installed the magnaflows. I'll take a video later on with the new h pipe. So it should be a good before and after. The exhaust is def deeper. More v-8ish sound to me. But it is nowhere annoying or takes away from the luxury feel of the car. No drone at any speeds, but u know its not stock once u get on it a little.

Heres video of before and after. Both are with stock resonators. And magnaflow mufflers attached to stock piping. Only difference is the after is the addition of the H pipe only. Its slightly deeper in tone, with the addition that it doesnt sound as choked off at high rpms. It just sounds as if it breathing a whole lot better up top.

Once the stock y pipe was cut out. I couldnt even see light coming from the other side when i aimed it towards the sky. That just shows the amount of restriction that is really there. It truly is a night and day difference up top. No loss of bottom end power but the mid and top end is where it truly brings the car to life.

isnt our exhaust from factory considered true dual exhaust since they have pipes coming from both sides of the exhaust manifold and run all the way to the rear?
So basically all you did was eliminate resonators and built a custom Y pipe correct? Anyway we can get sound clips?
Looks pretty bad a$$ from the under carriage.

The car def feels stronger. Even a good friend of mine who rides with me many times a week admitted that the car def was pulling stronger up top. I know butt dyno's arent the most accurate, but if you can feel a noticeable change then there has got to be an increase in performance. It just feels as if the car is breathing soo much better in the mid and upper rpms. Rpms climb faster too. The first time i floored it after it was done, the car never gave me that "jerk" on the 1-2 shift after it shifted into 2nd. Just felt that more power was getting to the wheels.
