I have a 2003 MT coupe. My gas tank always filled up full with no problem. Then on Nov. 29, 2006, I had the filler hose recall work done. Since then, I have tried to fill up at 3 different stations and the pump clicked out way too early (about 3/4 mark) at all of them. I did manage to get them full (I think?) by pulling the nozzle almost all of the way out and barely squeezing the pump handle, trickling in the gas. At one of the 3 stations I even overfilled, spilling out some gas, using this method. The biggest pain is standing there with a flashlight for 5+ minutes trying to get it full.

I think I will have to contact the dealer about this. Hopefully they can fix it in one attempt since I live 60 miles from the dealer. Has anyone else experienced this problem after having the filler hose recall done?

I had this issue on my FX as other FX owners as well. Turns out its the Fuel Sender....theres 2 in the FX and the dealer replaced them and I havent had the issue. Give that a try....symptoms you guys are describing are exactly what I & other FX guys were getting.

I have this issue also, is it possible for me to find and fix the problem myself or have a mechanic look at it? My car is currently in the shop getting mods put on and I'm wondering if it's simple enough to let them handle it instead of me taking it to the stealership? I'm out of warranty.

I tried to force more gas in last night by moving the nozzle around, but I just ended up spilling gas on my car. I guess I will need to call the dealer.

Same here. Told them about it and they couldn't replicate the problem. Mentioned the fact it might be the gas stations but told me to bring it back if it does it again... It's been doing it off and on and again just recently on a road trip so i might be scheduling a service in the coming weeks :P

But just to sum up what folks have said, so i'm clear, replacing the tank hasn't seemed to fix it, replacing sensors might, performing the filler tube tsb might? Correct?

This happened to my 07 G35S as well. Only filling up to 3/4 full and when I try to force feed the gas into the tank (by pulling back the rubber neck of the gas pump), it ends up overflowing.

I took it to the dealer, they had to replace one of the fuel pumps. My service advisor stated the G35 has two fuel pumps (for redundancy). One of them failed and they had to replace it. The failure was caused by running my car on empty for too long (which I denied, but it was covered under warranty anyway). I cannot vouch for how true this statement is but whatever they did resolved the issue.

Since then, I haven't had any issues. My range jumped from 240mi/tank up to nearly 300. I also try to avoid running close to empty.

I'm having the same issue with my '06 sedan. At first I thought it was the gas station I filled up at but then when I filled up at 2 other stations the same thing happened. I've called my dealer and they were familiar with the issue. They have asked that I bring it in and will repair it under warranty. I'm hoping this is something that can be fixed on my first visit! On the bright side I'm hoping my loaner car will be one of the '07 or '08 G35s.

Your dealer will need to replace one or both of the Fuel sending units. There is one in each side of the saddle-shaped fuel tank.

OK, I had a problem with this too. Anyone, please feel free to add.
The weird part about mine was that it would stop and click while filling up, so I tried the whole "sticking it in half way" kinda method...OK,that worked, BUT when it finally came to a stop, CLICK! I checked the gas level and it said it was only 3/4's full???

I drove for about 25 mins and then all of a sudden it shot straight up to being full. What's up with that?

Mine has been doing this as well for a few months now. Do the dealers replace both the sending units? I am out of warranty so I am gonna try to avoid stealership labor.

Anyone has done this themselves?

My 2003 G35 Sedan filled up fine until 2 months ago. The pump would stop at 3/4 and fill very slowly thereafter. After I took it in to get it fixed, the tank would only fill to 1/2 - the tank would not accept any more fuel regardless of how slow I pumped it in.

I think G35fromPA is on to something with the fuel sending units - perhaps one of the overflow valves is stuck shut. Its going back in for service Wednesday - I'll let you all know what I find out.
