Can't fill tank all the way??
ok guys let me tell you my story.
I was having this problem for some time and all i was doing was reading my KM because my tank was showing empty most of the time. Sometimes when I had a full tank the needle would go only at half tank mark. One day I made my calculations wrong and got stuck without gas. At the start I thought was my engine so I made many attempts to start and consumed all the gas in my tank, gas line and engine. Ran to the gas station and filled an emergency contenier with 5 liters. After that drove to the gas station and got a full tank. To be exact it was 74.02 liters. Since that day i never had any problem with my fuel gauge and it is measuring 100%.

A friend of mine told me by doing that you cleaned the lines and the fuel measuring device..now i am not sure if was that but it did fix it and I am very happy about it.
Received letter from Infiniti Thursday, July 06, 2017. They have identified the problem as a "clogged evaporative emission vapor vent tube." They have provided me with a "warranty policy enhancement" on that item of 15 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. My '05 G35X has had this problem for the last three years- can't fill tank and gas gauge all over the place.
Anyway, dealer says he needs car for day and a half to drain and remove gas tank and repair.
Infiniti also says you may be eligible for reimbursement of related expenses if you went out of pocket to have it repaired.
Hope this helps.

I saw the recall notice just after I passed 150k miles. But I think much of the issue stems from that big rise in gas prices back in 2008 I think? People weren't filling up their tanks all the way when gas was $4 a gallon. When I first bought mine, it wouldn't fill all the way, I thought the problem was just the gas gauge was incorrect. So if it clicked off prematurely, I just went to another station to top it off, that usually worked. After doing that several times, and always filling my tank when I got gas, the problem went away on its own.
Some day when I'm bored I'll take mine off and hook it up to a hose and blow full pressure water through it to clean out the accumulation, I'm sure it's just buildup clogging the passageway until it's just a little tiny hole for vapors to travel through.
