VDC and Slip light

Anyone have any issues where the VDC light will come on and stay on with the Slip light? today on my way to work getting on the onramp, they came on and the back wheels locked up, and sent me into a spinout in front of oncoming traffic. luckily this was my early morning where i had to be at work by 5am, so there wasnt any rush hour traffic yet. But i almost hit a truck, a car almost hit me, and i came very close to the overpass concrete post. Luckily i didnt panic and was able to pop it in N, and try to steer away from the problems as much as possible, and the other drivers were able to avoid me. Car is going to the dealer tomorrow, for the filler neck recall and some other lil things too, so they will check this out.

^scary stuff. I have not had this experience with the slip/VDC. Hopefully the dealer will diagnose and correct the problem.

well, i guess all the lights came on because the front brakes were worn low to set the lights off. and when i was going around the curve when i tapped the brake to slow down, one of the rear wheels locked up and caused the spin out.

Thumbs down 06/6MT VDC, SLIP and RAS

All three post simultaneously several times/wk while driving along straight relatively good freeway 75-80 mph. Dealer is indifferent, Infinity Customer Support is indifferent. Parkway Infinity, Valencia, Calif

Do you have aftermarket rims or tires?

If the overall diameter of the tires changes too much, It can cause the wheel sensors to give off the wrong speed to the control unit. This would make the computer think that one or more of the tires are slipping. On turns the outer wheels are going to travel longer than the inner wheels and if the speed sensors are reading a big difference in speeds then it'll activate the slip control.

Thumbs down Infinity quality and support

The car is as it came from the factory, 100% stock and broken. Tried Infinity again today; no joy being polite and professional. Lemon Law in Calif. effective for issues like this. Thanks for the reply.

This maybe a stupid ? but...

Assuming after you changed the front brakes... did the lights go away? I've actually got the same lights on right now!

My VDC and slip light just recently started coming on occasionally and would go away after i turned the car off and let it sit. I called the dealer and they said that the brake fluid was probably low...it was...problem solved.

I agree, and had this happen the first time my pads started to get low (around 20k of highway driving).

If you run your pads low, your brake fluid reservoir level will get low and you will get the VDC/Slip flashing and eventually stay on. If you are on the verge, sometimes you can get the VDC/Slip light to flash while you are going around a corner, and then it'll go off.

Bottom line, check your fluid level. If it's low, your brake pads probably are too.

So it was fixed within a day? VDC light came on and was scaring me by locking up.
