So I'm assuming this only applies to 6MT?

This happens a little quicker in the summer and when I drive hard, I guess the high temperature of the engine burns oil eventually. Also, just make sure to add oil in very small amounts (about 1/8 of a quart) at a time (since if you overfill the oil above the High line, it isn't good for the engine). Then check the next day after the car sits overnight, don't wipe the dipstick when you take it out, just take the reading off the dipstick as soon as you take it out. Just my $.02
I would highly advise against using a cold engine to check oil levels. Even the TSB and owner's manual states to warm up the engine, turn it off/let it sit for 10 minutes THEN check the oil level. If you do it with it cold, most of the oil will be in the crankcase and may show full/OK. Do it correctly and level is most likely going to show low which you should be adding oil at that point. Oil level will tell you how much oil the engine is working with AFTER internal components properly lubricated. If you're using a cold engine, you're running it low on oil.

When your engine is low on oil, the tension pulley inside does not have enough motor oil powered to pull on the timing chain causing the timing chain to slap around inside your motor. That had happen to me before and I'm not sure what kind of damages has been done. My car burns 2.5 qts of oil in only average of 500 miles! It's probably because my motor has the oil consumption issue PLUS all my aftermarket engine components.

There is a service bulletin for it. My '05 6MT coupe had the same problem. Take your car to an Infiniti dealership with the service bulletin in hand. They take it from there. Good luck!
