Yes, 6 years and 60,000 miles.
However that's not the problem.
The problem is that dealers are trying very hard to fake the tests results to avoid warranty work and the Customer Support is behind them !

I am currently running my own test with Castrol GTX 10W40 High mileage. I already installed two oil trappers and cant wait to see where the oil goes !!!!!
I will check every 100 miles and take pictures all the time.
However with the oil being so clean its very difficult to see it on the DipStick.

I was burning oil and infiniti gave me a new short block. after 5,000miles and a proper break in on the new shorty, i was burning 17mm of oil on the dipstick in less than 1000 miles after Infiniti started my second OC test.

Waiting to hear back in regards for a long block. Infiniti said they already ordered me ANOTHER short block. After a couple calls to Nissan North America im sure they are in the mist of pulling me together a long block.

Replaced engines Short Block

I wonder if those are new engine parts or refurbished at Nissan's own shops !
How can you tell, because they will not tell you.
Any case, the Mechanics at your dealership are not that bad as in my area of South Florida.
Here my original dealer said that categorily this is not a warranty item!
Customer servise in Atlanta said: "Yes it is".. So they faked the test results.
They either get paid a percentage for every repair rejection or just don't want to do warranty work, because there is not enough money in it.
Second dealer overfilled the crank case and sealed the dipstick so I cannot check it out !!!!
Is'nt it a wonderfull practice .............
I am glad they replaced yours !!!!!

Professional Oil Analysis will disclose the metallurgy and suggest virgin new or remanufactured. I found out what my 2008 long-block most likely is. What they use now over three years later, don't know. But think Big Corp Biz and their costs...

I've been running a catch can on my replacement for over 1.5 years. It collects ~25% of total oil consumption. Never did this on my original burner, so curious what yours will collect.

Over 35K miles on my long-block now and still in the 'ok' on TSB chart, sometimes just making that cut. It's whatever and just live with it.

Yup getting my replacement back in 2008 was no picnic with their many GAMES. It's so sad they still play those.

Oil consumption test

JUST COMPLETED 600miles ON THE NEW OIL CHANGE WITH 10W-40 HIGH MILEAGE OIL TYPE.
THE CAR FILLS MORE SLUGISH, IT CONSUMES A LITTLE MORE GASOLINE, BUT STILL USING OIL.
THE NEW OIL IS SO CLEAN THAT ITS EXTREMELY HARD TO SEE WHERE IT ENDS ON THE DIP-STICK. TOOK MANY PICTURES ABOUT EVERY 120 miles ON THE ROAD. IT SEEMS TO LOSE ABOUT 4 TO 5mm SO FAR. I WILL CONTINUE TO 1000 MILES, BECAUSE THE MORE MILES, THE MORE ACCURATE THE TEST. THE OIL TRAPPERS INSTALLED ABOUT 800 miles AGO ARE CLEAN AND EMPTY AS NEW. IT SEEMS THAT THE OIL JUST SLIPS PAST THE RINGS UPWARD DIRECTLY IN TO THE HEAD WHERE IT BURNS. NO SMOKE OF ANY KIND. I WONDER IF THIS HIGH REV ENGINE HAS OIL SPRAYERS INSIDE THE CYLINDERS THAT SPRAY DIAGONALLY UPWARD. IF THATS THE CASE, IT MAY EXPLAIN WHERE SOME OF THE OIL GOES !!!!

^ You don't need to yell lol...

It doesn't matter which or what kind of oil you run on these revup VQ's concerning oil consumption. This has been known for years.

Some history that may help:

Seen you post in a couple other OC threads on Driver, but not this one I think which has a lot of info:

Sorry about the Capital letters, that's how we Architects and Engineers type on our plans, with capital letters and other peaople feel that we are yelling. Of course not !
Correction to last night oil test.
Because the oil is much thicker, it takes several hours for it to drain back in to the pan.
It looks now that in the morning, only 3mm were missing at 600 miles.
I will wait for the weekend to run the additional 400 miles !
Thanks for listening.

i dont think its the guys in service must be the dpsm because service workers get paid on warranty so i am sure they def want to replace your short or long block but probably dont have the go ahead from the district warranty advisors

Oil testing update.
Today I added another 200 miles, so I am at 800 miles since I began the self test.
I added 1 ounce of Lucas, because the engine was working to hard.
After about 50 miles it got much better.
Will check oil consumption tomorrow!
