Thanks for posting John. I'm not saying Colby copied Ecutek, but the fact that they had already defined all the table locations had to help - I mean the graphical interface is virtually identical. I use OpenECU exclusively for Suby and Mitsu BTW.

I am highly interested in seeing what happens with this effort, best of luck to you.

SC

p.s. I am very interested in doing some Toyota programming stuff. If that interests you (and there is funding involved) drop me a PM or email (spchurch@earthlink.net)

Shawn thanks for the vote of confidence I will make sure that everyone is kept up to date as this develops. There are a few projects going right now, but this is one of the ones that has priority.

update

Well after trying to get the communication protocol to work I have had to give up. I am going to email the maker of ECUflash and see what he thinks. I had incorrectly assumed that it might share some of the same basic traits as an STi to at least to get it to talk. Once I had a ROM I have a guy for disassembly, but I havent even been able to get a ROM yet.

Havent forgotten about it, just trying to work around some of the issues

The OPENEcu stuff, works really well, i have used it on my evo8 great unit, good stuff overall. its a shame that G35/350z doesnt have the same dedication to motors/programming like the Evo community does. i mean you have guys running 600+ and sub 11 sec 1/4 miles on the stock ECU, really cool stuff.

Glad to see its not dead, what hurdles have been cleared and what remains?

Is this project's going to be a cheaper alternative to other similar type stuff (accessport, osiris etc) , or is the goal to release an open source program free for all?

I'm not a technical guru, but is there anything I/we can do to help?

The end goal would be free open source software, wree you only need to pay for the cable. I have yet to receive any updates on its progress. I will try to get some in the coming weeks.

Please also access the transmission ecu so we can reflash it for firmer shifts and not have to do it via the valve body
