Engine Management questions (noob)

I'm fairly novice when it comes to engine management, however my mechanical background in building engines and general modifications is very extensive.

I'm new to the G scene. My old ride was a fully built MR2 turbo. :-( Miss it! Anyway, I plan to go FI one day (still debating SC or turbo). Currently I have the Fast Intentions Exhaust, Megan V2 test pipes, Motordyne 5/16", K&N drop in, and Z tube.

Which piggyback or full EMS will be the most economical if I want to tune the NA setup now...then have the abilitiy to run the FI setup later on?

I thought about getting the Cobb Accessport or something similar for now, but I just needed some insight.

I know Cobb does good things for Subarus but I haven't heard anybody say a lot of good stuff about the G with this yet

Osiris (Uprev) has very good reviews. You can e-tune by logging data and sending it to them and they will tune it to your car. Not as good as a dyno tune but still good

There are plenty of EMUs that you can use. You may want to check the Forced Induction section. But theres Greddy Emanage Ultimate, UTEC, Osiris, HKS FCON Pro just to name a few, Research them a bit to find out what suits your needs.

Standalone EMS is really only needed in EXTREME NA applications. The Uprev Osirus, Osirus PRO or a PRO Tune with the stock ECU is going to get you the most stable, smoothest and powerful tune. Piggybacks are generally a band-aid or for applications that need extra options. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

i would say that the Fcon Vpro is one of the top EMS in the market. But it is also, the most expense ems. However, i am a true believer of "you get what you pay for"
