whatd they charge for a map? some charge a flat rate of 300? It used to be when they were just doing flashes on wrx's before the accessport it was 700 for a lisence dyno time and tune

so let me get this str8, u had the guys at cobb send u over a custom tune map correct? and u loaded it and wala??

Well you need an accessport. $400-$700
Next you need a custom tune. The charge depends on the tuner. $140+
They can edit custom maps incase you add more mods. and the accessport can hold 75+ maps

Well I got a really good deal on this since it is in its beta stage. I got the accessport + dynotune + 5 custom maps for less then the retail cost of an accessport.

No, I took it to my tuner for a custom dyno tune. He is doing beta testing for cobb so they can release the software to other tuners out there.

It's cool you got a deal on it though.
price of accessport + the price for a tune. You dont have to get a tune, you can share maps with people like the subi guys do. I'm sure future tuners will offer package deals on the accessport+a tune. They do that now with subaru and evo's.

this is what people dont under stand. Cobbs product is almost identical to uprevs.

You buy an access port and then you go to a cobb tuner who has the nissan liscense (there arent alot around because most of them are subaru, but there are a few). They make you a custom map just like if you bought uprevs product and went to one of there tuners. The accessport then holds all your maps and you use the accessport to flash to a different map. A similar way to uprev using the cruise control to switch maps, cobb uses there handheld. The handheld not only flashes but you can also data log with it so you dont have to bring a laptop in your car. It also will read CELS and can display alot of gauges monitored by OEM sensors. These are just a few things the accessport does. Its mainly to hold your maps but it has alot of other cool features. Id really only buy the product if there was a cobb tuner close to me which there is. There are some flaws in it but i think once cobb gets them ironed out it will make for a great product.

Good info. By the way which shop in the Bay did you go to for the dyno?

Looks weird...also it seems that if you would have rev'd the engine out to 6600rpm you might have put at least 5-6whp more.

I doubt it. Even with the better tuning options out there, without cams the DE's die off at a rapid pace post 6300. With a great tuner the power loss is pretty uniform with stock cams (just like stock).

I'd normally agree with you because I've seen a few VQ's that do just that but if you look at his dyno the hp is going up at a pretty steep ramp by the time he lets off. I doubt in the 400rpm left it'll actually loose power.

My car also kept producing power ( or rather, it never lost power ) all the way to redline so it's not exactly unrealistic.

I also just noticed that the dyno posted does NOT have SAE correction which makes it even more difficult to compare.

Care to post the dyno? You can't compare results from a mustang dyno to results from a dynojet even if both are sae. My car has spent hours, upon hours on the dyno being tuned many different times w/differing set-ups and I have never kept making power past 6400.

Mine didn't make any more power, but it didn't lose any power either. It stayed flat till redline ( which for some reason shows up as 6500rpm on my dyno sheet.
