Utec question
Utec question
I just pulled my turbo xs utec off my 04 G35 and want to install it on my 03 350z i have the same exact mods on the Z as i had on the G because well i parted out my G to my Z will i need a retune on the utec or should it just work fine holding the same tune from the G? There are a couple diffs. between the two cars my G was auto my Z is a 6 speed and my G has like 40k less miles than the Z . . what yall think?
Nahh not FI, Long tube headers, XO2 dual exhaust, CAI, Plenum Spacer, 3pc. Underdrive pullys, Grounding kit, Voltage stablizer
How would i look at my A/F ratio at the top of my RPM range does it log or what not that technical w the utec and just dont feel like paying 400 bucks for a retune
Do you have the software and access to a wideband? Given your understanding, I would bring it back to whoever did the tune on your G and ask them the same question you posted here.
They may be willing to log a "street" run logging the UTEC output and check out your A/F ratio and other bits to see if the exiting utne is appropriate or dangerous.
In the end you gotta pay to play, especially if you want your car to last.

If you want to be safe without a new tune. Don't reinstall the UTEC and let the stock ECU compensate for your bolt ons. You wont get the most out of your mods, but you'll be safe until you feel like getting a tune (and having things live up to their full potential).
