Will PSP work through the radio/nav screen?

My car DOESNT have NAV. I dont know if that matters any though.

Im curious if the psp can be played through the screen like the ipod video can. Does anyone know? Thanks.

If it has RCA video/audio out, it should work.

So I'm guessing you have an aftermarket in-dash screen or double din?

All you said was "My car doesn't have nav" but didn't really say what you have. But assuming you do have a regular in-dash screen or double din then
all you need to do is get TV adapter that they sell for the PSP (using RCA plugs) and if you are not currently using the RCA jacks on the back of your unit(meaning you don't subs/amp/etc just the unit) then all you do is connect it to the rear and enjoy.

If you are using those RCA jacks already then you are going to have to get an RCA Multi adapter and do some customizing

Concealed StrateG35, sorry for not being more clear. I was assuming that anyone in the "07 tech thread" would know what the interior looks like. My bad.
The 07 G sedan actually has the screen standard whether the car has nav or not. It also has those RCA jacks in the armrest making it simple to connect devices.
I was just curious to see if the output would actually work to the screen since Ive seen threads on ipod video but have heard nothing about a PSP.

Thanks for the reply guys! Oh, and heres a pic of what the interior looks like:

If the iPod video works on a non-nav 07 G35, then the PSP video will work just the same. Composite video signals are composite video signals. It doesn't matter what device is generating the signal.

Exactly.

But you have to buy the actual "TV Connector" kit for the PSP because the PSP doesn't come with RCA wires.
The kit should be no more than $20 at your local electronics store.

Where exactly have you seen this online for $20? The online devices I've seen are the big honkin' adapters that clip onto the front of your PSP and read the screen via CCD (like the Nyko Play adapter). The cheapest I've seen these for is $60.

^^ I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking that maybe you could use the same cable as the ipod that plugs into the headphone jack?

Nope, doesn't work. The PSP doesn't have the same output capabilities as the ipod or even the zune. I haven't been able to find any cables that will do the job alone. And I don't really feel like sticking one of those huge ugly screen readers on the front of my psp.

Thanks for the info guys. I actually went out and bought a PSP and one of those cables just to try it. So just to confirm what was already said, it does not work.

Yeah, it was one of my biggest complaints about the psp... Eh, you can have better graphics and have the ability to play DvDs if you get a mini-ps2 and mount it in the trunk. Thats probably what I'll end up doing when I get around to it. Then all you need is a wireless controller and an inverter...

I found that putting double-sided tape on the back of the psp and sticking it on the navigation screen does the trick. Then you can watch it when you get bored of watching the road....Ha!
