IPOD info for 07 Sedan

Here is what I got
you can buy 3 factory nissan/infiniti parts (2 harnesses and an ipod module) that give you ipod throught the factory controls. it is a part that was originally made just for the nissans but it works on most infiniti's. i have an 07 sedan with xm and it works. kinda wierd to get used to the controls but after a few days no big deal. no steering wheel function except vol. You use the seek up and down as the up and down button functions and the tune **** as the enter button. You get all info on screen , only issue is you need to extend ipod cord unless you wanna leave it in trunk ,but you need to unplug ipod the get xm music since the ipod inteface interupts the xm. If you are going to extend ipod cable then my suggestion is to do as i did and put a switch on the yellow wire in the cable, then you just have to flip the switch to go from xm to ipod. this is the best solution i have found the the ipod issue for the 07 sedan.

hope this helps

part numbers are

ipod module 999u7-vr002-got from nissan dealer
harness 999u7-vs000-got from infiniti dealer
harness 999u7-vs001-got from infiniti dealer

these are the same parts some people are buying from the guy in jersey, he is just selling you factory parts that you can go to your local inifniti and nissan dealer and buy. I am a installer and i was gonna buy the parts from him, but when i tried to buy them wholesale through my work he gave me a BS price. i called my guy at my infiniti dealer and he told me that they are factory parts. I believe the guy is just a employee at a dealership in jersey selling parts on the net. i guess he is just making one of the harnesses longer so you can get the ipod up front, i just extended the ipod cord and put a switch on the yellow wire in the cable so i could leave the ipod plugged in all the time and use the switch to change from ipod to xm and leave ipod in glovebox or center console.

An option for the factory interface is exactly what I was looking for. Although, my ipod jack is in the center armrest with the 3 RCA inputs. Should this still work for non navi / XM equipped 07's?

i have a sport w/premium , no navi, w/xm radio, so yes it will work. parts i got through my work at wholesale $198

installation is pretty easy, doesnt really come with any instructions because it is technically made for altima's

just unplug xm harness from tuner and plug into one of the new harnesses ,then plug that harness into ipod module and then plug other new harness from ipod module to xm tuner. need to extend ipod cord to front of vehicle so you can go back and forth from xm to ipod. i recommend putting switch (if i remember correctly it is the yellow wire) in the cable so you can always leave ipod plugged in and just flip switch back and forth. i ran cable to armrest were aux input jack are and also mounted switch in same place

hope that helps parts souldn't be much more at regular retail $. the guy i deal with at the dealership hooks me up but told me that these parts dont have alot of mark up because they are considered acessories

The 2008 G35 will support an iPod interface. I wonder if that uses parts that can easily be used for the 2007 G35 (and provides a better user interface than the parts mentioned earlier)? That would be really great if that can be done.

that the 2008 iPod interface can be retro-fitted into our '07's.

I'd like the ability to have more than just volume functions via the steering wheel, like in the G37.

that would be sweet. use the 2008 hardware with a software update for the car...
it is how it should have been done with the 2007 cars.

Your local Infiniti dealership is the best place to get information regarding whether or not there will be a dealer installed ipod interface for the 2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan. "
My local dealership knows SQUAT about anything pertaining to the cars they sell. I'd be surpirsed if they even know that the 08's are ipod ready.....
