Anyone try this yet? v. Car Audio

I tried searching for this but nothing came up. Has anyone tried replacing the rear factory subwoofer with a aftermarket subwoofer and adding an amp as well somewhere in the trunk? What would be some cons to this or would it not be possible? Im thinking about doing this. I want a subwoofer and an amp in the car but hate the idea of losing trunk space because I use the trunk space all the time.

you might need to reinforce the rear deck as well as get a sub that is a free air sub

Its not worth it because any free air sub that size that will fit there wont sound good. You will have better luck getting a box build to fit under the liner and have the sub face the opening

I have a narrow profile box with a 10' kicker sub in it, and a pioneer amp right behind it. It takes up a bit of trunk space but not the amount I cannot live with. I wanted to go the free air route initially but the installer was able to dissuade me from going that route claiming it would not sound nearly as well.

The shop I go to had a good suggestion for running an aftermarket amp with the install subwoofer. Depending on budget you may want to look into a Audison amp (LRX 4 possibly) that is capable of running interior and sub woofer while also adding in a Bit Processor of ome sort for tuning the entire system, front and rear fill speakers as well as sub. They did this install in a 07 Coupe and it sounds very nice. I did consider running aftermarket sub as well, but for what I want it's going to eat some of the trunk space.
