I know this may be redundant, but I just got an '08 G35xS two days ago and everything is excellent but the iPod scrolling feature when looking through artists.

I have 513 Artists... so do get down to a letter at the end of the alphabet takes me forever! You can't even go backwards if you wanted to!

If anyone has a suggestion, BESIDES the genre & composer fields and unplugging the iPod, going to the artist, and plugging it back in.. please reply.

Unfortunately the 3 you already listed are the only options....

 

I have the smae problem... would be nice to be able to scroll first letter of names (i.e. A, B, C). Nothing to solve it so far. Maybe Nissan will make a software update?

Why not make playlists for A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H etc? Would that work?

 

Not exactly. If you make a playlist (with all artists that start with A for example), it will dump all the songs by those artists into a giant list. It doesn't preserve any of the artist or album folders.

Actually the Genre way is the best... For example, all the artists that start with an A, you would make a Genre A for them... for all artists with a B, make a Genre B.. so on, so on..

When you go to Genre in your car, you'll see A-Z and you just click whatever letter you want, and it will list all the artists corresponding to that letter... works for me!

 

Yeah...that's what I did. But he was wanting a way to do it besides that.

 

I have the same problem. https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif It's really inexcusable that the iPod interface should basically be limited to Next Track and Previous Track because any other operation takes too long to be useless. It's particularly annoying because you have to pay $2,500 to be able to integrate your iPod and every other interface I've seen in cars has the accelerated scrolling feature.

It occurs to me that this should be a pretty simple software issue to fix. Maybe we could write Infiniti about it. Does anyone know who we could write?

 

I just picked up my G35 on Friday and this is the only major flaw I've found. So far I've only made it down to Grand Funk Railroad- at this rate it's going to be 2011 before I get to ZZ Top.

Does anyone else have any tips for how they deal with this limitation?
