Aspect Ratio in AUX Mode
I did a search on this and couldn't find the information. When I watch movies through the AUX input, the picture seems distorted. I know there are three options the car will let you choose from: Normal, Wide, and Cinema. When I play back a widescreen movie, I can't get the aspect ratio to be correct. When I change it to NORMAL, it shrinks the image to a 4:3, making the picture narrower and this the people look skinnier than usual. If I change the ratio to WIDE, it seems to stretch the image to 16:9, however it also zooms in a bit, cutting off some information from all four sides and making the picture quality noticably inferior, but at least the people and object look normal and not stretched one way or another. Then I change the ratio to CINEMA, where it fits all the information on the 16:9 screen however the image close to the middle of the screen seems squished veritcally and the people seem skinnier. The images towards the sides of the screen look normal.
Baiscally if I had showing on the screen 3 circles located one on each side and one in the middle that should be a perfect round shape on a regualr 16:9 screen at home, it will show up as two round circles on the sides and and skinny oval in the middle.
Sorry to make this so long, but I want to be clear as to what is showing. Bottom line, how do i get a widescreen movie to play on the AUX screen correctly, without any image distortion, like the way it's shown on a regular 16:9 screen?
Thanks.

Actually i'm playing it from a portable DVD player, so the aspect ratio coming from the player is correct because when I hook it up to my 16:9 tv, everything looks normal.
mm,
the only thing i can think of is that the screen in the G is not a 16:9 screen.
(no clue weather it is or isn't)
even tho it looks like a wide screen ratio, it could be off by 100 pixels or so. and that would be enough to cause a distortion.

Ok, I am first and foremost a Home Theater junkie and an audio and videophile.
So the fact that there is no good aspect ratio for my G, drives me crazy.
Has anyone figured out how to get a relatively full screen without squashing the center of the image?
When I connect my iPhone, The only time I get a good aspect ratio is when I hit the enter or select button to pick one of the three default choices. As soon as I pick "wide" and the options go away, the picture is distorted. The normal mode only uses half of the screen and cinema zooms in to where the picture is unwatchable. It sux. Anyone know how to get an undistorted AR on this screen?
