the info you're looking for is in the AV section, page 59. that will show you the shape and location of the harness you are looking for. pin 105 is the reverse wire.

cheers!

just an update for anyone doing this, the camera hasn't been working well the past couple months and apparently Coastal E Tech says its just not rated for this type of weather in NY. the tech claimed that the sensor would be too cold and one way around this might be to wire it to ACC power instead of the reverse lights so at least when you're driving the sensor will be warmed up. i'm just going to buy a boyo instead. ill update you guys when i do.

thanks for the update Remmy! Hopefully the boyo will be much more resilient. Its too bad there isn't anything in the price range thats both CCD based and supports distance markers (atleast that I could find).

Getting it right

Remmy,,,the sensor has gone bad??? That is an odd diagnoses?! If your reverse lights are working then your good to go,,,voltage is voltage. What I have noticed when I did the install is that I was getting 10.2 volts when it was in reverse. (I tapped into the reverse purple wire by the kick panel) to my 920bt for one signal and connect the camera to the reverse lights in the rear. You may have a wire that is freyed or getting exposed to the elements that is getting a short. Do you have issues every time you in-climate weather? Im using a 60 dollar AUdiovox 200w camera and I was so satisfied I put it on my tundra too. If I can help you just let me know!!

hey bryant, i *am having this problem every time i get in the car, and honestly maybe the product is just inferior. my coworker, who has this camera and recommended it to me, is having the same issues so i do believe it's cold weather related and i also took note this week because we had some 32 degree days and it was iffy, then it went down to 0 degress and crapped out then today it was back up to like 25 and it was iffy again so i am confident it doesnt like the cold.

the voltage is good, the cables are fine, ive done alot of troubleshooting. the only thing left is the camera. the tech claimed that chrysler and ford are having similar issues but who knows.

comatose - unfortunately it seems they do not make a CCD camera with the markings built in so i've considered buying a used camera control unit from ebay or something for an infiniti to get the markings back on but it seems like a bit much money for me to invest on something like that. in reality once you get a feel for things you don't need the markers.

Remmy following my backup camera choice I see. get the boyo 425.. it rocks.. you dont need the lines.. you can tell how close you are very easily. also, I was thinking of mounting it in the trunk finisher but no need, you cant see it at all, I put in on some spacers and you can see everything!
