Removing the Factory CD Changer in the trunk

I want to pull the Factory CD Changer out of my trunk and get the OEM Trunk liner without the CD Changer molding. Has anyone done this before? If i remove the CD Changer will the Stereo still cycle through the Changer even though it is gone? Where would be a good place to look for the trunk liner without the molded CD Changer housing? Sorry for all the questions and thank you in advance for any info you can provide!

Factory CD changer?

Must be a dealer add-on, since these cars have a built-in 6-disc in-dash changer. In that case, yes, it'll work fine, since it interfaces like the satellite radio.

Is it actually a cd changer, or are you looking at the sedan's amplifier? Some pictures might help.

But since these cars don't come stock with a CD changer, any trunk liner is going to inherently be non-cd changer trunk liner.

If it's not factory it is one hell of a clean install.

Funny you should ask this. I just removed my cd changer last weekend (going to put an after market amp in its place). With it removed it doesn't effect the stereo. When you cycle the inputs the stereo doesn't see it anymore and skips it like it was never there.
As far as finding trunk liner I would say check ebay, craigslist and local salvage yards. You might even post in the classified forum on here, somebody may want to swap you to have the cd changer.

In my 2006 sedanX (RIP) with Bose, it was on the underside of the parcel shelf. Don't know if it is the same on the 2004. Here's a screenshot from the 2006 FSM.
