Looks nice.. The best I've seen to date.. Not too low.. but just right.. Very nice!

 

As everyone has been stating thats a really great drop. Something like that for the G35X would be great but I understand that the dynamics of AWD is different.

Let us know about any scraping issues in real world driving. I have a lowered car now and even though it's not that low it scrapes on a lot of driveways, speed bumps, etc.

 

I have to admit, Eibach did a very good job. I'm just the lucky guy that got them installed.

It's not the 10's I'm worried about since it's been done. It's my grand idea to try for 285 in the rear that make me nervous.

 

Do you have to take speed bumps and dips slower now?

 

I haven't had the car fully loaded yet. I went over a few speed bumps slowly already and had no problems. I'm sure it would have bottomed out if I didn't slow down though.

The front lip is dead even with the parking blocks here at work. I am positive the front will scrape or smash if I tried to put my front tire against the block.

I'd say to anyone thinking of lowering your car ... be prepared to use a lot of caution. If not, lowering is not for you.

 

I'd say yes, but I haven't tried it at "un-lowered" speeds yet.

I always take speed bumps, dips, angled driveways, and any other irregular road surfaces slower and more cautiously regardless of what I drive but as terry has said, a lowered G does get much more intimate with mother earth with a drop.
Just as a simple reference as to how low the front is, my foot will hit the bottom of the front bumper in front of the front wheel with just a slight tip of my toes upward when I'm wiping the hood of the car.
With that in mind, any front-first parking into bumpstops, big curbs, high speed bumps will take your front off, guaranteed.

 

I was in the garage trying to find the lowest point under the car after lowering.

Here is my rule of thumb for those planning on using Eibach springs:

Don't run over anything that is taller than a 2x4 on edge. A 2x4 on edge will barely scrape and clear the plastic shield under the engine, but clear everything else.

From what I recall from a long time ago, the law in California is no part of the car can extend below the rim. Can someone confirm this? If this is true, my car should be legal.

 

That is correct for California.

Of course, if you want to go lower, you can always get some 22" rims with super low profile tires.

 

Hey Terrycs! Anyupdate on the Camber Kits? Or did you find another way to get the Alignment done? Especially the Rear, which seems more off than the Fronts? I want to pick up my springs, but wondering if I should wait till the Camber kit's come out before I put in my Springs? Keep us updated

 

Hey Mike .... no kit yet, but I'll be making my weekly call to Eibach to see if there is any update worth reporting to you guys. I can feel your urgency, especially if your springs came in and you are staring at that box in the corner of the room !

Aghh hehe nope don't have the springs yet, but will very soon, like the next 2weeks! Glad you are calling them, Hopefully they come out with it soon! As I may just throw the springs on, like you, since i only really drive my G on the weekends anyway, so should not have too much of a tire wear problem with the camber Kits Well just post up when you have NEWS!

HAHA I will be staring at that Spring Box in the Corner of my room very soon! LOL

 

Yeah, I need to try and take a good look at my tires, see if I can notice anything yet. Probaby getting up to around 1700 miles or so since the drop.... they need to hurry up with that alignment kit, or someone does anyways!

 

The other CA law you have to watch out for is:

The headlamps and every light source in any headlamp unit shall be located at a height of not more than 54 inches nor less than 22 inches.

 

Rather ironic that 808mike and hokiesean24 asked about aligment kits...

I was just notified today by the R&D manager at Eibach (by email) that the new alignment kit is finished. The email did not get into specifics, but it will be test fitted on my car either late this week, or early next week.

I'm looking forward to getting this project finished!
