G35xS Tire Review

Dunlops
I have always heard dunlops are amazing for sticking to the road and my dad has the Lexus GX470 with dunlops and they never fail. I got my G35xS a month a go and I can say that I never slip in the rain or ever to my knowledge, and i love taking turns fast! Get the Dunlops and it also comes with the 18's too.

I have my G35xS just over a month now with 1300 miles.
I say these Dunlop tires are not very good under cold weather.
I "felt" that my xS doesn't stick on the road very well when temperature
is below 25F. Also, I slip couple times when I turn corners at ~20mph with
some light snow on the ground. For comparison, my other car Mazda6 with
same condition never gave me any problem.

the dunlops that come on the xS also come on the ex35 with 18's. just by looking at the tread pattern, the blocks are to close and won't provide enough grip in the snow. the dunlops are more of a high performance all season tire. the rubber compound is also to hard. i personally don't like all season tires. if you can afford it, why not purchase dedicated summer tires and dedicated winter tires thus maximizing your vehicles performance.

I think there is a misconception about all wheel drive cars. yes they will help you accelerate in snow, and get out of your drive way better. Some times they can help you turn at very slow speeds. but they can't help you stop any better then a 2 wheel drive car.
keep that in mind when your thinking about tires.
the reason i say this is because 2 of my friends that have awd wrx's thought they could run summer tires all year around.
they tried it, and they both hits stuff with in the first 2 snow storms this year.

Tirerack has Blizzack LM-25's that fit
Here
But I suggest going with a 17" Wheel and Tire Package.
17's will do better in the snow than your 18's and this will save you in both summer rubber and road salt and sand abuse on the wheels.
Tons of choices in the 17" range
Here
I bought a set of 17" Blizzak WS-50's on basic aluminum wheels from Tirerack.. $800 including all hardware, stems, balancing, etc.
They're not the prettiest, but not bad looking for winter tires and the car is an absolute tank in the snow now.
