OEM wheels without TPMS
OEM wheels without TPMS
Anyone know what the secret is to running OEM tires without sensors?
Some local shops are saying that special valve stems are required from Infiniti as theirs that they use wouldn't work... they don't fit our wheels.
Anyone know what the secret is?
I've seen tons of OEM wheels on ebay with the sensors removed, so it is possible.
Thanks

Bump...
I just bought some G37 wheels for my G35 and would like to move my 17" sensors to the new wheels.
Anyone have info on running OEMs without a sensor?
Some shops say it cannot be done!?!

Done!!
Ok Aesonvision, finally got this done, went to Merchant Tire near my place and asked them the same question and the guy was pretty educated in this matter.
He told me straight off that it can be done by replacing the TPMS stems with regular non-TPMS steams which have a larger bud to be able to fit in the larger TPMS hole. He said soon all shops will be carrying these as their normal stems as all 2008 models have TPMS by law.
Also, he told me that the sensors need to go back in the SAME EXACT wheel well position to turn the TPMS light off(LR-left rear, RF- right front etc) , and 90% of the time recalibiration is not needed.
They took all 4 of them out(labeled them) and remounted my OEM's for $44.00 TOTAL
and i was very happy with his attitude, service and price.
Let me know if you need more info, hope it helps all who were in the same line as me, and once agin thanks Aesonvision for your attempts to help out.
