370Z springs experiment
YOUR BAD...... lol A very very bad man.... hahaha
So let me get this straight. You cut your rubber mounts to fit the rears properly but did not keep the rear 370z springs?
And decided to just stick with front 370 springs and stock rear springs?

You guys should go through the list of tuners over on the370Z & PM them.
Several of them have posted they're cars that they are modding already.
I got mibe from DoubleDownMotorsports, they were the first ones I tried.

, you are pretty good at fishin Ian, you reeled in a couple already. I knew what you meant when you first posted since you only used the front Z springs.

You are such a tease

If you read through the after data;
The 370Z rears are WAY too short, too much to add a spacer in.
I left the G rears in & cut the rubber mount.
It's a VERY easy job to do.
I cut them down 3/8" to start with, I think I may cut them another 1/4" after seeing it again today.
(I didn't want to cut too much at 1st.)
JP already put an ad up on the Sponsors board there yesterday
+1 haha we get all excited and miss out on the finer details... lol
I missed that part about... not using the 370 rear springs.

Why is everyone scrambling for a set of front springs before we have final results?
Ian, do you see anything with this setup that should cause us to pause and wait, or is this the holy grail of spring solutions we were all hoping for?

The one thing I wish I was able to do is get actual spring rate data, instead of calculated.
But....
1. based on the rate calc,
2. the amount that they dropped compared to unloaded measure
3. the way they feel driving the car
JMO, but I don't see any compatibility issues running 370Z fronts & G rears.
The Z rears are definitely a no go, with over 1-1/2" unloaded height difference.
For X owners you also need to keep in mind that you may drop a tad more than my 0.85",
due to a little extra front end weight in the X.
That applies to any other aftermarket front spring as well.
Also, IDK how much difference there is between X rears & the Sport rears.
Some data I've seen would suggest they are pretty close.
If they are much higher than my sport springs, IDK if you will be able to cut down the upper rubber mount enough.
I'm going to take another slice off mine this week, which = about 1/2" taken off in total.
JMO, but I don't think I'd want to cut much more than that off.
You have my rear before measurements (wheel well arch to center hub; 7/8 full tank)
It would be good if 3 or 4 'X' owners would measure, then compile data to compare.
That will tell the tale for the rear springs.
In driving my car, I love the drop.
I know from the feel, alignment is the only thing I need to get sorted out.
I'm borderline AR when it comes to alignment setup & feel.
I'll be happy to post my alignment setup when done.
In summary, $100 cost aside & JMO;
This is the way I would choose to go over any other progressive rate spring choice out there.

Thanks for the update Ian. I will try and get a measurement of my rear (I have to find a steel tape; I dont think I have any here in London).
If X owners decide to drop the front only and leave the rears alone; without cutting the rubber mounts. Do you think this is perfectly fine to do as well?
Or will there be an issue since the front is lower than the rear? From a mechanical, driving dynamics, AWD perspective?
Thanks.

You will really upset the balance of the car.
It will preload the font suspension too much if you do that.
The car will feel heavy on the front end.
This may not be an alternative for us X boys till we look into it further.
Are we back to Tanabe's and Impuls again?

I wonder if anyone has looked into G37 coupe springs.
