its actually a place that gives pretty good deals overall compared to other places.. :S

maybe they made a mistake..hmmm.... or maybe its the size that I want that differs the price range?

wes, i'm currently on ecsta spt now and have no complaints, be that tread wear, noise, or grip. i went kumho due to them being considerably cheaper than the falkens and figured i'd try them out.

but generally, falkens are > kumho's, so if the price is cheaper on the falkens, hit it!

The Falkens "should" be more than the "PT's, so if they're quoting you cheaper, get it ASAP

Those are prices on the sizes I get, so it will be a little different for you... But I doubt it can be that big of a difference. It could be either they or their supplier are trying to move more Falkens so they're able to give a lower price for them.

I think I even enjoyed Direzzas more than the Falkens... either or the Direzzas lasted much longer and didn't get as worse over time

After having had numerous sets of tires of different makes and models, i've come to realize that there is no "perfect" tire. They all have their pros and cons and unless i start comparing Touring versus Extreme High Performance Summers, each tire within a particular category works roughly the same as their competitors in normal daily driving...

As for the noise thing, every tire will eventually get noisy the longer its in service. Just think about it, less tread depth equals more surface area that touches the ground and makes a sound. There's also rubber degradation during its service life and it does dry out which also contributes to noise.

soundmike - good point.

Noise doesnt bother me too much. My annoyance with falkens is too much "road feel". Although the price is awesome.. I feel like I wanna try something else.

Perhaps the Yokohama S Drive? Anyone try those yet?

^ ^

My friend told me that they had "cupping" problems with those before, and Tire Rack didn't warranty the defective tires. That made me opt out of those.

Maybe the new Hankook Ventus'?

Cupping is not caused by the tire... it could be an unbalanced tire, or worn out suspension parts, but either way, Tire Rack has no obligation to replace those tires unless they installed them for you.

My friends store was/is a Tire Rack auth installer. AFAIK, it wasn't an install/balance/suspension problem (I may have used the wrong term, but it was a defect).
