Installed the Akebono brakes - finally

Just a little FYI on a few things I found when installing the Akebono brakes.

I had expected the need to remove or trim the front dust shield.
On my 08 G35S, I didn't need to do anything!
The front shields are very small with no lip & not in the way at all.

The rears... as advertised, they needed triming.

Also;
I installed Stoptech SS lines.
After playing around a bit (yes, I read the install pdf),
I installed the right line on the left side (& vice versa)

The only difference in the lines are the mount clips.
I found that doing it this way produced a smoother curve to the lines.
I also double nutted the mounting bolts for the same reason.

& the obligatory pics....

Yes, definitely!
I went with HPS pads though instead of the OE.
It definitely hauls down better.

One of the things I like best, is the improved modulation.
The 4pots are so damn smooth.

I'm looking forward to some HPDE days next spring.
The extra mass of the big rotors should help big time to reduce fade.

I'm jealous
I like how we can see the JIC label in the background too.
That wasn't planned, now was it?

I love how you don't miss any details, done right the first time.

Looks great, let's see some pics with the wheel on, curious what all that goodness looks like from the car's side profile.

would you happen to know the weight diff between the oem akebono rotors compared to the stoptechs?

im not too sure but i think read somewhere saying something about a 10lb diff between the oem akebono rotors compared to the 07 and under g35 coupe

im thinking about the akebono bbk with the stoptechs
but if its too heavy i think i might just do the oem brembo
