Tire wear...

With 33,500 miles on the G, I'm within a few months of tire shopping for the second time.

The stockers were good for 17,000 miles and the current F1 all-seasons are going to be similar (might get to 18,000).

What kind of tire and miles are you guys getting???

I don't have the exact #'s here with me now, but i was able to get 20k+ miles on a set of FK452's, that's with several track days thrown in. Probably could have squeezed another couple k out of it, but on the last track session i hit the edge of a rumble strip hard enough to go airborne --- nothing seems to be broken, but it did throw my alignment out of whack. Long story.

I was able to pull 35K out of my OEM Potenzas, the rears were worn to the nub, the fronts still had a decent amount of tread left. I replaced the entire set-up with M45 19's, but when I go back to the 18's I'll likely just get new rear tires and see how long the fronts can make it.

Although the potenzas are a little noisy, grip never died away and rain wasnt an issue until the rears were slicks. I would buy them again if they werent so costly, I like the Hankook V12's as my next brand.

I have the Re 050s with 9,000 miles on the odometer. I'll be lucky to get 13,000 out of my rear tires. I'm going with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. I've had them on my g35 and they were great. They have a treadwear rating of 500 and a 45,000 warranty.

Great performing tires in dry/wet conditions. However, the treadlife on those tires suck badly. I think they are rated at 260 or so..

It's rated about the same as my old Falken's, if it gets anywhere near what i got on the Falken's, it's worth it.

I am purchasing new tires this Monday. I considered the Hankooks for its price.. but I've decided to go w/ Yoko S.Drives instead.

I'm looking at the Yoko S.drives as an option. Would like to hear your impressions after a few miles.

Another thought I had was to go with the Sumitomo HTR Z III. Pricing looks good and they have gotten good reviews. I would hope that I could squeeze 17K out of them!

Goodyear Eagle F1s are by far the best tires I've ever put on this car. They're absolutely stunning in traction, tread wear, temperature tolerance, the whole 9 yards.

I replaced the OEM Bridgestones with Goodyear F1 All Seasons. I liked the Bridgestones for dry performance and how quiet they were.

The F1 All Seasons cannot be rotated (side to side) and are very loud. Performance is OK in the dry and excellent in the rain. I have about 18,000 miles on the F1s now. The fronts are at the wear bars, but the rears are doing a little better.

Getting close to tire decision time...

Yep, exact same combo and mileage as NCGS and looking to replace both this year. Like Klasikahl, I love the F1s despite all the negative stuff I read about them. They seemed great for the G 6MT. HOWEVER, according to Tire Rack looks like Goodyear no longer makes them in sizes for our G's. So looking at Pole Positions or Dunlops for an A/S and Yoko Advans for summer.

Any other opinions out there?

i'm going on 23,000 miles on my OEM RE050's and looks like i can get at least another 5,000 if i'm easy on them. i am still waiting for my new wheels to come in but i went with the Sumitomo HTR Z-IIIs because of the great price and reviews. my friend has them on his S4 and loves them, can't wait to try them out!
