Coilover Problems
Hey All,
I recently purchased a set of H&R coilovers for my g35s sedan (07) Link: http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?i...odel=G35%204DR . After dropping my car off at the alignment shop that I typically use, I got a call saying that they couldn't apply the coilovers to the front of the car because they just wouldn't fit. The mechanic at the shop then called H&R and was told that apparently some late model 07 g35's were actually released with the 08 suspension, and that H&R doesn't actually support the 08 suspension. Needless to say I'm pretty confused because according to the link off stillen the suspension should work even if my car does have an 08 suspension. I've been frantically calling stillen and H&R to try and get some information but haven't really gotten anything useful. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

At this time, your choices are
jic
tein
bc
kw
hks
tanabe
sma
there may be one or two I missed but those are the main ones.
I've yet to see anyone running the hks or sma.
One member had prototype teins on his car but I haven't see him around in forever. Teins main advantage is the optional edfc but it's pricey. The unit itself is also one of the most expensive.
there's a bunch of us with jics and we're all happy. #1 or 2 in my book in terms of features, performance, build, etc.
a few have the tanabe and are happy too. The tanabes main advantage is low price, but no adjustment on the strut
I've only seen one 2nd gen with kw's so far but he's a car show dude and not a hard driver like some of us, so his opinion may not necessarily count

however, IMO, unless one is competing in a show where having a rare or exclusive item rewards extra points, I find it difficult to even think of recommending either of those two products to anyone in the market for a co. In all honesty, can they or do they really perform a level equivalent to 3-4x the price of say a jic or tein?

Wow, a lot of useful info here, thanks a lot for the replies guys.
Well as it is now I'd say I'm between the JIC FLT-FAS and the Tein Flex and Mono Flex. I'm thinking I'd rather go with the Tein Mono Flex but it might be too stiff for daily driving. Granted I don't really mind because I personally like the feeling, but it can be somewhat annoying for passengers.

Also the place I'm trying to buy my coilovers from has the JIC FLT-TAR listed as being for the g35 coupe, do coupes and sedans have the same suspension? My initial thought is that they'd have to be different but I have no idea.
Sorry for all the questions I just really don't want to get screwed out of 2,000 dollars again.

Well, over 2x to 2.75x the price of the jics and I'm willing to bet not that much better performance. But, if you have to have the "most dope jdm-yo shiz" then ya you gotta pay the price lol
