How much to install eibach springs on the X?

After much reading on this forum, I decided to get a set of Eibach springs for my 08 XS. I bought them from a online vendor and asked a local shop for an estimate. He quotes $700 and I politely declined. I was thinking more of $150 range to have springs installed. How much have you guys paid for your installation? Anyone know of a decent shop near Hartford, CT?

Installation costs should range between $150 - $325 (the higher range usually includes alignment). Camber kit installation may add another hour or two of labor cost.

I've got 3 estimates so far. all 3 shops quoted 4 to 5 hours of labor. I guess in my area, it's going to be minimum of $500 for install.

That's ridiculous, 5 hours for 4 springs?!?! See if any members near your area can help you with the installation, you'd be getting MILKED if you paid $500 to install springs. Just giving you a heads up.

i paid $200 at VTR ( Vinny Ten racing), i think if you find a performance shop they would do it for a decent price. or you can always take a trip to NY and have em installed.
Oh and $500 to install springs is complete BS do not do it

I was shocked these guys were saying it takes 4 hours for springs. one guy told me 3 hours for the rears. I must have "I am a sucker" written on my forehead. I am gonna try few more shops. I know few guys in northern NJ and I think it may be better to just take a drive.

The problem with some, if not most, shops is that they base their estimates on the book. Go to a shop familiar with the car and chances are they'll give you a better rate.

soundmike has pretty much got it, they would use alldata to get figures.

Youre looking at that pretty much. If you go to a import shop or something similar it may come out cheaper.

DIY its fun, I remember the first time I did springs. It took us 8 hours to do, took longer because we had to grab some extra stuff like our spring compressor and using hand tools only.
