Tire options for the G37 coupe wheels
Ya Mike, the difference in quietness is very noticable. I believe it's due to the larger edge blocks on the 452 versus the v12
Also, it "seems" as though the sidewall on the v12 is a bit softer than the fk's, but I have to do more "evaluating" to be sure about it lol.
Cornering grip seems about the same, maybe a slight edge to the fk over the v12.
Braking on the dry, the advantage easily goes to the v12. No rain here yet to test the wet braking.
Overall, I'm very happy with them so far. Damn, us yobo's make some good tires, no?

On wet roads, the V12s are great. No hydroplaning or sliding around so far -- and we've had several torrential rains in Houston since i put them on.

Oh no, I liked the 452s as well. My 3 still has them on, and they're wearing very good on that car (my wife doesn't drive as much as me, or quite like me

I was looking at the Falkens, but now that they're out of production the Hankooks look like a great option. The Kumho's haven't gotten very good reviews.
And yes mike, these will be my DD tires (although the reason I'm already looking for tires again is cuz I didn't strictly adhere to that this weekend haha)
The potenzas are just so expensive and have such horrible life - I'm willing to give up a little bit of performance for a huge decrease in price and increase in life. I still have a set of potenzas on my 350z 18's for motorsport endeavors
they're 19x8.5 front and 19x9 rear - that'll fit the 245/275 combination with the small sidewalls right? according to the tirerack specs for the Hankooks they will

Wait, did you got the Drivers Edge event this weekend? I saw that on their schedule yesterday and i may go to the Texas Speedway event in March -- even if only for one of the two days.

the 245/275 combo is a "plus zero" size, meaning they're as close to stock size as possible.
A 265/40/19 instead of the 245/40/19 will be .4" bigger diameter wise and be 1.8% too slow
A 285/35/19 instead of the 275/35/19 will be .2" bigger diameter wise and be 0.6% too slow
However, the 245/275 combo sits perfectly on the rim, sidewall wise. The new v12 actually has a little bit of buldge on the back (more than the 452s had), so I imagine the 285 would buldge even more. The fronts are still perfectly straight up/down.
If I were you, I'd stick to the 245/275 combo.

I have the exact same situation with g37 19's on my sedan. I was looking at the exact same option of moving up to 245/275 and trying to improve tread wear and cost also. Happened to stop by my local Tiresplus to find out what they would do for me about possibly getting me special order tires in that size to save money and tread wear. The sales person then showed me the Bridgestone POTENZA RE760 sport. It has a tread wear of 340 and a price almost in line with the lower cost tires.
Price quote with no haggling yet was:
245/40/19's $206 plus install approx. $15 ea.
275/35/19's $213 plus install approx. $15 ea.
Any input on these tires?

I've been solely at Driveway Austin. I completed the entire L1 Course and passed my test last semester, so I did my L2 classroom/instruction full day (9-5) saturday.

Looked around MyG37 (like I should have done first) and I'll be doing the Plus Zero size with the Hankooks when the time comes - I'm still a good couple of months off. Hopefully I can baby them and get a full year out of them.... can't argue with saving a couple hundred bucks while also getting some more meat to the ground
