Powder Coating Volks GTC....help

guy I want to powder coat one set of Volks GT-C which i am planning to buy as my current wheels are very aggressive.

So anyone has any idea if the lock nuts on Volks can be opened as I saw one guy on my350z who opened those and then tight ± 100 torque lb/ft using some glue as well. One ther guy said there is a sequence of tightning these nuts? and Volks never released the torque force as well

So anyone had any experience?

This is my current setup front is with +19 offset wheel is a bit out

These are the one which I want to do as offset is perfect but wheels have marks on it,

current SF Winning are 19 X 9.5 +19 and 10.5 +15, running on -2 camber all round looks ok with camber setting but not liking the drive.

The other Volks GTC are 9.5 +30 and 10.5 +32, in rear i would need 15mm spacer

I posted some pics on GTZ forum you can check there

Ah ok I see why you want to change your offsets,

mine at +25 all around, I tried to get the rear camber at -2 but the dumb *** mechanics here have no clue how to use a damn alignment machine, honestly they're better off without one, I'm waiting for a new place to open to I can set my camber at -2 on the rears because they stick out a bit for my liking

Are you trying to remove the wheel face from the barrel? I think the glue you're referring to is just blue threadlocker. you shouldn't have any issues removing the bolts, just remember to use some threadlocker when putting the wheels back on incase some of it gets removed in the process. As far as mounting sequence, I'd assume you would use the star configuration just like the wheel bolts. I don't know about the torque settings though.

^ I agree with Q8Y.

You could make your current set work easily and it would look great. Just need a mild drop and some spacers in the rear to make it flush.
+19 on a Z isn't too aggressive.

Your Z is looking good, front tires are a bit too meaty though.

P.S. Is that Atif's garage?

Yeah i found the thread locker from ACE, mounting im also assuming star shape. Volks never release the torque to tightening, but read somewhere close to 100 lb/ft

Will keep you guys posted as first im trying to sell the wheels if not then will do the swap and paint.

MAn actually these current offsets are peaches for G35 coupe and 350Z but 370 need atleast +24 to sit flush and problem with mine was that it was not clearing the bigger brakes so im running on 3mm spacer.

I am already lowered and on good negative camber of -2 in fronts. Rear can take a spacer of 5mm or so. But dont want to run on such negative camber so this another guy with GTC wheels is willing for a swap and his offsets are nice but not that much sold on GTC shape and colour so if go ahead with it then.

There is a guy willing to buy these Volks Winning if that happens would be the best so I will buy something with perfect fitment

Regarding tires i am still running on stock 245 and 275 wheels, ideally need something 255 and 285/295 but will do if change the wheels

And yeah thats Evolve, Atif's Garage

I see what you mean, so you're looking at 9.5 +24 and 10.5 +10/+15 to get them to fit flush.
I say +10 in the rear cause you want your rears to be a bit more aggressive than the fronts, otherwise it takes away from the look of the car.

The GTC's honestly don't look too bad on the car, maybe if you PC them the same gold as your SF Winnings or maybe go for a black face and throw on some red lugs.

Hope the guy buys them so you can get a fresh set with the exact offsets you want.

When you're getting new tires, try dropping the front profile down to a 35.
255/35/19 and 295/30/19 should look great.

Good luck with everything.

thanks man...now you got it

the last option is to paint the GTC, maybe golden or phantom look

A guy is selling GTC wheels here on the forum these are 20@ but will this colour scheme look nice on the Z?

For the tires I am using stock so still have to buy

Those are custom painted right? cause they look just like the volk phantom edition paint they use on a couple of their wheels which is plain sick!
