Question Bridgestone Potenza RE050A replacement tires? Something longer lasting???

Light daily driving is only yielding about ~20k miles on the stock Bridgestone Potenza RE050A. I looked on TireRack and they have a few other choices that look better in terms of treadwear. Looking at replacing my two rear tires that are on the verge of replacement. Anyone recommend the RE960AS PP or the RE760 Sport? The stock 140 tread wear is just too soft and costly for this daily driver.

245/45R18 Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position
Tread wear: 400
Dry/Wet: AA/A
Price: $185

245/45R18 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport
Tread wear: 340
Dry/Wet: A/A
Price: $160

245/45R18 Bridgestone Potenza RE050A (Stock OEM Tires)
Tread wear: 140
Dry/Wet: A/A
Price: $217

I have the Goodyear Eagle GT's...they have 50k mile warranty on them for treadlife and they only cost around $120 a tire when I bought them last year...Far cheaper than all the other tires and they are still pretty aggressive IMO...but they may have soft sidewall so it depends on what you like...They are rated ultra high performance all-season tires...

Sorry I don't have the sport version...so I don't know the tires in 18"...

I'm very happy with the RE760 sport, I've had them for 3K miles now, much better ride than the RE050.

I think you have to be wiliing to give up a little bit of preciseness and ultimate grip to get better wear ratings. I agree, the re050s have horrible wear ratings (and are heavy as well). But they sure did perform well in the dry/wet.

I have 245/40/19 on the rear (Bridgestone Potenza RE050) Stock and I have 42,000 miles on them and still running strong. They are a bit noisy but other than that, they are good tires.
