#2 Did my Akebono BBK install! The process and MORE issues!
Ok guys my Akebono Install turned into NIGHTMARE
So I moved my Project Kics 10mm spacers with built in studs that I had in the front to the back, so the rear wheels could clear the calipers, if you remember. So it clears all nice now but now the the factory studs appears to be too long and won't let the wheels to sit flush on the hub. The studs that spacers are sitting on are hitting the inside of my AfterMarket wheels ( there are holes for the studs in the wheels, but holes are not deep enough due to high offset of the wheels if you know what Im talking about. ... Im gonna have to trim my factory studs now so the wheels can sit flush.

So i installed my Factory wheels on the back so I can drive for now and wow how much clearance vs my Avant Garde wheels!!!

So anyway the 10mm front spacers went to the back, and my 5mm spacers went to the front... The front barely clears the front calipers, there is like 1mm clearance now! pretty scary... I do have 15mm spacers coming for the front though, but for now that's what I have.

OK now the WORST part!
I got a leak from the front Factory line right where it's highlighted in red. I remember when I was bleeding the brakes it leaked from there as well and the other side, I tightened the other side and then this one but it still leaks from here... It leaks pretty bad too. Anyone had this problem before and WHY has this happned??? I want to get new one now and install. Hopefully it will fix the leak! Have no idea why it's leaking from there!!!
Can anyone hook me up with the part number for that line that I need??? That's the line that goes behind the knuckle. I got an 07 G35 Sport Sedan

I just ordered Akebono calipers for my 08 X sedan so I can start my BBK project and you are making me nervous.
Do most people have clearance issues with aftermarket rims?

I know there is a template guide available but will these bakes only fit certain aftermarket rims?
Most vendors say the Akebono BBK kits are a direct bolt on for 07+ models but the caveat is you have to have aftermarket rims that will work.

^^yes most people have problems with bbk and aftermarket rims....it all depends on the disk type and the offset of the rims whether or not you will be fine running a bbk

Same thing happened to me. There is a thread about built in stud spacers and aftermarket wheels.. One of the things to check for. I ended up just getting new wheels..

yeahhh i got the wheels before I got my akebono so I didn't really got into this stuff in detail, cause didn't think I would end up getting the BBK.
Maybe the schematics in the link below will help you identify the part number you need.

Only way it would work is if u get v1 spacers. Separate studs .. Not built in ones...

yeahh i know. Wish I knew that earlier.
Shurik, I just responded to your other thread about this (https://g35driver.com/forums/6526711-post31.html). Do you know you can cut the end off the tube and re-flare it? It's not hard to do. Of course you can always replace the line entirely too.

I just remembered that the car was hit on that side before I bought it. So the line could have been damaged once I was doing the SS lines. All other sides are great, no leaks. I did this one side same as others, and I ended up with the leak. I better change the whole line, instead of cutting. Safer that way.
In any case, you're gonna need to get access to a good dealer for parts help. I found an old copy of a page I had a dealer print for me which showed the hardline (Model V36 "Brake Piping and Control" section (462- -A 02) ), but I can't make out the part numbers on it (sorry). Hopefully if they find it, it won't be a 'back ordered to Japan' situation like the simple caliper rebuild kit I tried to order was.

EDIT: wait, wait, wait . . . that's the front brakes you're dealing with there; sorry, I wasn't paying attention. Yah, that is a short little segment that just wraps around the suspension. That one is listed on the V36 Brake Piping and Control (462- -A 01) page that I can read. It looks like the part number (undoubtedly a partial number) is: 46245(right) and 46246(left).
Doing a quick google of that partial number I came up with these interesting threads:
