Rear brake dust shield

Has anyone successfully remove the rear brake dust shields? I would rather replace it than cut it for Akebono install.

Sure, they can be removed, but only after you disconnect the axle and pull the wheel bearing/hub assembly from the axle housing to get at it. It's shown clearly in the part breakdown: (see page RAX-7)

I know. I wanted feedback from someone who has actually done it. To gauge time and effort it too.

You can't completely remove the dust shield. The e-brake hardware mounts to the shield. You do need to remove the wheel hubs to remove the shields, and that involves dropping the axles. I recently replaced my wheel bearings and did the e-brake pads and hardware while it was all apart.

Personally I would just get some G37S dust shields to avoid cutting and have a cleaner install. Just depends on how much effort you want to put into it.
