DIY: Cleaning Battery Terminals (and Oily windshields)
I thought this was common knowledge, until i recently did the coke trick on a friend's corroded battery terminals... he and his friends just looked
at me.
Anyhow, if in a pinch and you know your battery is good but the terminals are corroded, instead of taking the terminals off and manually cleaning them with sandpaper/etc., just slowly pour regular coke on it and let it sit for a few minutes.
p.s. As a bonus, if your windshield has become rather oily from road grime, do the same with the remainder of your soda, then wash away with water.
p.p.s. In certain cases, you can also pour it on rusted nuts and bolts to help loosen them.

Ya we did this in our chem class about 6 years ago, it was a fun and an unforgettable assignment and i vowed never to drink coke again... and yet, just as i write this i have a glass of coke right in front of me, and ppl say nicotine is addictive...
